restrict content sharing
One way to avoid unwanted content being shared into your meeting is to only let hosts share content by default. To do this, go to Screen Sharing setting in your Zoom portal and select "Host Only" under "Who Can Share?" setting.
Use new "Security" button
Zoom updated their desktop application to include a new option in the Meeting Controls called Security. This is visible to the host and includes some important security features, including the ability to enable the Waiting Room, lock the Meeting, remove participants, control screen sharing, and more.
be intentional with invites
Many of the Zoom meetings that were "Zoombombed" were shared on social media with the dial-in details. Be careful how you distribute your meeting invitations. Optionally, you can turn on "Only authenticated users can join meetings" in "Advanced Options" when scheduling the meeting for additional security measures.
